6" sct computerized vs refractor apo
« on: December 24, 2017, 12:36:15 AM »
Hi, I am an older newcomer.  Have had 4 scopes in my own life.  The older tasco refractor,4" reflector a 4: mct that I left bolts in with change.  dead unit.  Bought the 6: sct because when I read different literature they claimed this scope is much better all around.I have used 4 times in my garden in Nassau county,n.y..  The light pollution is horrible.  I would like to use the scope with no being motorized or sell it and get a 80mm refractor using a alt/az mount.  I utilize my 10x50 binos most of the time.  I just got a pass into the shore at jones beach, also in nassau county,ny.  I feel if I was to attempt to sell this scope I wouldn't get nearly the amount I paid for this, plus I purchased a brand new focuser that was 275.  I am certain that there alot of ideas out there.  Any advice would be welcomed.  Thank you, Larry
