Nope- words of praise and wonder, though.

So was I and JarHeads tend to be "salty" more than Sailors.

For me, it's usually when something happens to the mount, i.e. setup doesn't seem to be happening, slewing is off; can't get polar alignment right, the power goes out (many reasons here but won't go deep); accidentally nudge the scope so now the alignment is off; trip over something; dew.....

I could go on and on....

This happens to me all the time but never while looking at the sky, usually in town or at the mall.

Yes. Raquel Welch in "One Million Years B.C." when I was 12 years old. (I didn't get to see it until 1969.)

It started with "Holy..."

The night sky, when doing what it does best, usually renders me speechless. I tend to reserve my invective for painfully slow drivers and the news at 11.

The first time I watched through a gen 3 NV device looking at M42 on a 10" dob, knocked my socks off which elicited some choice unmentionable words, good thing wife and kids were inside.

I think my foul language is reserved for those (thankfully) blessedly rare occasions when I hear the clink of something metallic on concrete or wood or some other hard surface or the times when a battery dies on my DSCs. Of course it's easy enough to switch over to starhopping then. There can also be the unforeseen consequences that arise like high winds winds threatening to knock over expensive equipment that might elicit a profane word or two. Mostly for me it's just a bemused smile of incomprehensible amazement at the immense complexity and diversity of the universe.

You should have heard me last night when the RA went "over current". I've only used the (expletives omitted) mount four or five times since I sent it back to iOptron for paid repair last June that included a new RA board, new worms and afaik a new RA motor (had to stop imaging at the end of august due to other pressing considerations and crummy weather....last night was the first night out since Augst ~28,2016) . My "lively" utterances were only exceeded by those I exclaimed when, with only 1 turn out on the DEC axis and one on the RA axis clutch adjusters, the stupid thing racked again. Once for each axis.

At least I was able to get my new guide scope tuned up with my guide camera, even though I can't use it until I resolve what problem the mount now has.

I'm liking these enthusiastic replies. I'd posted initially in order to inquire about the use of "colorful language" in the more positive context of surprise/amazement when viewing an object, but i'm sure the inverse situation (equipment woes / clouds / unanticipated stray light) can also lead to some NSFW words being tossed about with even more fervor =)

I tend to use all the words I know and I've picked up a lot of words that some just don't seem to like to hear. So, sure. They describe exactly what the impacts of many astronomical sights are for me.

Or, like night before last when I was straining to pick the supernova SN2017cdf out of IC511 from out at the quiet country dark site and a high flying commercial airliner flew right through the field of view. I'm sure I let loose a string of expletives as I jumped.

Children cause me to filter as do CN policies but little else.
