6" or 7" Mak Cass better than 8" SCT for Planet Views?
« on: December 23, 2017, 11:14:08 PM »
Following is a newbie question.  I'm trying to find a nice mid-size range for planet viewing, and I've heard that the Orion Mak Cass 6" or 7" (150mm & 180mm) can outdo a Meade or Celestron 8" SCT for narrow field viewpoints (lunar, planetary, some brighter DSOs).  Something about the building I guess.  Is this accurate?
