I have goto on all my dobs...i shot my laser thru a 35mm eyepiece and push the beam coming out of the telescope and goto where i want to look.

My GoTo is very similar...I point the Telrad at the correct location and look through
the eyepiece. I assume you use a laser so you don't have to crane your neck looking
through a RDF. I put my Telrad on a 4" riser to minimize the strain and don't have to switch
out the laser and eyepieces. Always have to chose your poison. Of course you
have to be familiar with the sky to use either of our techniques! I bet we can both
find our targets in a fraction of the time it takes a real goto.

For me, it's not a race, but a journey.

Whatever gets ya out under the stars is all good.
