What did Santa get you for Christmas?
« on: December 24, 2017, 02:55:18 AM »
Saw a few posts here looking for advice on Christmas telescopes.  However, did anyone receive anything?  If you bought something on your own, I figure that counts too

For me, it turned into a black blanket to hang over the balcony railing for obstructing out stray light.

I got a sky map globe that somehow rotates under it's own power. Hidden solar panels and magnets or something... very mysterious

Do you have a link?

6 pairs of Dr. Scholls diabetic socks. A pair of jeans that where way too small.

2" 70 degree 39 mm eyepiece
Set of planetary color filters
Orion eyepiece waist pouch
Oberwerk binocular monopod with locking swivel head
OIII and Nebulea filter
Second telrad base for my second scope

And so many clouds that I have hardly been able to use them.

Some 5.11 TacPro pants, the Jumbo PSA....socks......an ST80 from the Orion clearance page and a Revolution imager kit. The Revolution was ostensibly from the wife, but I did the ordering.

The ST80 was just too good to pass up for under $80 like new (the box still appeared to be sealed!). Even though I already have 66mm, 70mm and 102mm refractors covered, one can never have enough refractors.....  Now if we had some clear weather, Scope Nights says Jan 6 should be good!

Clouds, clouds and more clouds. Also, some rain.

I did nab a tripod upgrade - regular 8se tripod on the left, upgrade on the right (it is the Celestron heavy duty one that comes with CPC 1100 etc). Really looking forward to seeing how it works, if this rain ever stops.

Hey that is really cool! How heavy is that sucker?

On linking pictures, what you need to do is click "more reply options" or "advanced" and then you should be able to attach files. You attach your image as a file and then click the little link next to it that shows up which says 'insert into post' which slaps the inline image into your text wherever your cursor is.
