12.5 Morpheus vs 12 T4 Nagler
« on: December 24, 2017, 08:46:42 PM »
I have an Orion XX12i and had an observing session with my friend.  I liked his 8.8 ES 82, but I am not sure if it is the right eyepiece for me personally.  My present only eyepiece is a 22 Nagler T4 which I love, and I am constructing a new pair (as likely seen in other forums lately posted).  I am thinking about trying the Baader Morpheus eyepieces for my higher power eyepieces since I've been reading great reviews on them, and the eye relief is quite similar to my T4 Nagler, and the FOV is slightly greater than the XW's and Delos eyepieces.  If I were to get the 6.5 and 9 millimeter Morpheus eyepieces to go with my 22 Nagler, would you receive a 12 millimeter T4 Nagler or 12.5 millimeter Morpheus to fill the gap?  I'll most likely be adding either a 34 ES 68, 35 Pan, or 30 ES 82 because of my low power to top off the collection.  How does the performance compare between these two eyepieces?  Also, how will be the Morpheus eyepieces on planets?  A 6.5, 9, 12/12.5, 22, and 30-35 appears like it'd be a well rounded set.
