Jon - SD --- on the contrary - I think comparing "A" to "B" is quite natural for most folks and the sharing of experiences and opinions on astro gear is one of the very reasons this forum exists....share information, experience and opinion. And Jon - I AM "enjoying the views" - I go out every clear night!!! And I love it!!! Can't get enough.Jon - if you rather not read someone's opinions and comparisons (A vs. B, etc.) - then simply skip them - many do....I among them. This is EXACTLY where one has the opportunity to read what MANY OTHERS think (folks who actually HAVE the item / have used it and compared it to this or that / some into amateur astronomy all their lives) before taking the plunge and just buying this or that in a vacuum. I personally value the opinions and A/B comparisons of other C/N's members...especially a couple of the "vendors" that seem to chime in on a regularl...when conversation of this sort of pops up. Some of these guys are real experts. And they do it for FUN - not profit - for the love of the hobby. Sharing their A/B experiences and opinions.Jon - I'm not the type that buys and returns things - just to try them out. When I buy I'd rather make more informed buying decisions based on real life experiences of fellow amateur astronomers, like myself. And like many - including older folks like myself living on a limited fixed incomes - we can only afford the BEST VALUES - that might not always be the item with the highest price.Enjoy your views - I enjoy mine and articulating them here on C/N's is (IMO) all part of the FUN.Clear skies my friend - M11Mike (Ballston Lake, NY)

Tank - DELOS more than 2X the money and I'd bet far from 2X as good. That's kinda like comparing a C8 to a C11--- ie - one might expect a bit better light grasp out of the 11 (for double the $$$'s) and my guess is the DELOS performance differential wouldn't match that the of C8/C11.
Tank - not knocking T/V EP's- I have two I like, one I love. But you pay dearly for them. If your pockets aren't that deep --- ES offer SUPER VALUE / "GREAT MPG" (performance per dollar). Much (IMHO) of what you pay for with TV has to do with the NAME. Granted, they hold their value, etc. But like many - I'm more concerned with "performance per $$$" - than with "collector" or resale value --- I'm not buying EP's to resell - I'm buying eyepieces to USE.

not bashing ES 82s just stating facts
the ES are really nice value in the 82 degree market
i would say to your 2x the cost well i would rather have 1 delos than two ES 82s
this is thru experience had all the ES 82s and 68s

Like many others I think the ES 82° eyepieces are excellent for the money.

By the way, the usual convention of abbreviating the names is ES82 11mm, ES68 24mm, etc.

Tank - maybe you, but not I - I had a 10 Delos and a 11 Delite. Bought both here on C/N's USED. And SOLD both - had problems with black-outs on both and a lot of difficulty with eye placement...I just found them both "very difficult". My eyes, my scope, ???. Both were disappointments for me. And BOTH cost me more USED than what I paid for the ES82 11mm NEW. My point was more $$$ is NOT always better...least not for everyone...in fact can sometimes be WORSE!!!I think that eyepieces are a very personal thing. So much depends on ones eyes and how good (or bad) they might be. Your age. Your scope(s). What you look at (planets, deep space, etc.). And a lot more.Tank - I have tried quite a few TV eyepieces and the only one I have kept is the Panoptic 24. Recently a local "expert" told me how great the TV 32 PL (made in Japan) was - that it simply knocks the socks off all other 32 PL's and is well worth the extra $$$. So - on his advice I bought one and quickly sold it. My $50 Celestron Omni 32PL (least to MY EYES / IN MY SCOPE) was superior!!!MikePS: Tank - just bought here on CN's (Saturday) a ES68 24mm as I want to compare for myself a $150 ES 68/24 to my TV $300 68/24. BTW - I have had cataract surgery (both eyes) and have 'fully corrective implants'. Maybe that has something to do with all this as well?????

Mike
i see, the reason there are so many EPs out on the market today is that so many people have different tastes and likes
what works for you is the key thing and same for me
