11 mm TeleVue Plössl - any good?
« on: December 24, 2017, 06:11:38 PM »
I am looking for a good medium power eyepiece for detecting greater detail about the planets, moon and heavy sky (particularly PN).  My 10mm is fine about the Moon and planets, but doesn't work all that well on items like galaxies.  Additionally, it is filled with fingerprints.  That is why I search to substitute it.

Is the 11mm TeleVue Plossl a good idea?  One individual from my team recommended an eyepiece having an exit pupil of 2mm, which this eyepiece gets quite close to.  Also, it has great reviews and it comparatively inexpensive (I suppose this eyepiece is considered middle class?) .  What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Also considering 8mm one.  What's better?
