10 MICRON GM 1000 HPS SUPER POLAR ALIGNMENT
« on: December 24, 2017, 02:09:58 PM »
Morning,

This week I worked on the orthogonality of my 8" Edge HD.  Adjusted it from about 8 arc minutes to a bit less than 3 arc minutes.  Not ideal but better.

Friday night I took a screen capture video of their final five stars in a run of model maker.  There ended up being 25 points in the design.  You have to receive all the things in the design into see what you closing RMS value is going to be and what your closing polar orientation is.  The things will need to be reasonably spread throughout the sky to generate a nice model.  The 25 stars modeled suggested a polar orientation of 8" arc moments and also RMS of 5.22" without a points deleted.
